· Teff's journey ·
About 2.75 million hectares of this grain are grown in Ethiopia, where the government controls exports to prevent prices from soaring due to shortages.
However, teff is also planted far away from its native country in places like Spain, where it has successfully adapted to the climate and terrain. After years of research, high-quality teff is produced and increasingly grown.
This crop needs great care due to its tiny size and tropical characteristics. In addition to the research work, the seeds and farmers must be carefully selected to obtain optimal harvests and a high-quality product.
